We’ve had the chance to stay in some incredible accommodations in Lapland, including the stunning Aito Resort and the surreal Arctic SnowHotel & Glass Igloos. Below, we’re sharing the best and most unique places to stay in Finnish Lapland, including our personal experiences!

1. Aito Resort – Rovaniemi (Where We Stayed)

✨ A peaceful, modern glass treehouse and igloor escape with luxury spa

Tucked away in a quiet forest just 45 minutes from Rovaniemi, Aito Resort was our favorite stay in Finnish Lapland. Unlike the larger, touristy igloo resorts, this place felt private, cozy, and intimate—perfect for watching the Northern Lights in peace. The floor-to-ceiling glass walls of our Aurora Treehouse gave us incredible Arctic views, and the luxury spa and sauna was the perfect way to warm up after a long day of winter adventures.

Our Experience: We absolutely loved how quiet and secluded it felt compared to other resorts. It was so relaxing to watch the snow fall outside from our perch in the glass treehouse! The location was close enough to Rovaniemi for excursions but far enough to feel like a hidden gem.

2. Arctic SnowHotel & Glass Igloos – Rovaniemi (Where We Stayed)

✨ A once-in-a-lifetime Arctic experience—sleep in a hotel made of snow!

If you’ve ever dreamed of spending the night in a real snow hotel, this is your chance. Arctic SnowHotel is built entirely from ice and snow each winter, offering one of the most unique overnight experiences in the world.

Experience the magic of an Ice Hotel in Lapland, Finland. A cozy bedroom made entirely of ice with soft purple lighting welcomes you. The bed features thick, dark bedding and fluffy pillows. Ice sculptures, including a whimsical character on the wall, add a touch of charm to this icy retreat.

But if an icy bed isn’t your thing, their glass igloos provide a warm, cozy alternative with heated windows for Northern Lights viewing.

Our Experience: Staying in the SnowHotel was surreal! The rooms are made of ice, but don’t worry—you get a super-warm Arctic sleeping bag to stay cozy.

The snow sauna was another highlight—where else can you experience that?!

A dome-shaped igloo made of snow glows warmly at night in the heart of Lapland. The igloo's small entrance and an opening at the top emit a subtle icy blue light, creating a serene contrast against the nighttime sky—a true marvel reminiscent of Finland's enchanting Ice Hotel.

3. Kakslauttanen Arctic Resort – Saariselkä

Kakslauttanen is probably the most well-known igloo resort in Lapland, and for good reason! Located in the wilderness near Saariselkä, the resort offers glass igloos, log cabins with saunas, and even a snow chapel. This is the classic Lapland experience you’ve probably seen in photos.
